Trade Point Africa-Connect

Special test for Africa Connectivity to Internet

This special page will help Trade Point experts traveling in Africa to test the connectivity from African cities to the UNTPDC Server in Geneva. This connectivity test includes the access to the UNTPDC Gopher and WWW services and the ETO Master Index during a session of approx. 10 minutes. Each session will be "tagged" at our Server to provide statistics on the quality, speed and cost of the communication from the African country to our Server in Geneva. This information will help us to forecast and project future communication traffic to/from Africa, and to find solutions to establish Internet Servers using existing Trade Points in the continent. Several Home Pages are now available for Africa countries with links to African services. It is our intention to create a comprehensive navigation panel on existing African servers operating Gopher and/or WWW services.

In order to guide the test , we prepared a special navigational index which includes a summary on latest development at the UNCTAD TPDC Web and Gopher.
