Shanghai Trade Point is locatde on 27Zhong Shan Road,E.1 on the Bund which is the financial development centre in Shanghai. The STP is UNCTAD(Unitde Nations Conferrence on Trade and Development) trade point set up in Shanghai with the agreement by UNCT AD and the approval by the Chinese government.It carries out its work under the leadership of the Shanghai Trade Efficiency Association(STEA) and the supervision and guidance of the UNCTAD.

The STP takes the improvement of trade efficiency advocated by the Trade Efficiency Initiative as its aim,its groups under the same roof the government departments related to foreign trade and the service providers intervening in foreign trade transact ions such as Customs,Comndity Inspections,Banks, Foreign Exchange Control,Insurance,Transportation and Information Service etc. to handle systematically the official affairs and provide the information for trade and the services for foreign trade transact ion,acting as the bridge to connect the global trade network throughout the world.
