IS a country of incredible beauty, home to the continents most majestic mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, which rises majestically out of the dusty bush of the northern Masai Steppe and the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world, the Serengeti National Park.

Reserves cover over 246 square kilometres, possibly more than any other country on earth. It has 35 species of antelope and over 1.5 million wildebeest - over 80 percent of the population of this species in Africa.

Dar Es Salaam is the capital city of Tanzania. It has an Arabic name which means "Heaven of Peace". Once a quiet fishing village, it still looks as it did a century ago with three or four storey buildings painted in pastel colours which line the dusty streets. It's a tropical port, set on the shores of a palm-fringed bay.

Tanzania offers the visitor incredible variety. However, one must keep in mind that when you visit Tanzania, one has to sacrifice a few comforts to experience its natural wonders. Tanzania's landscape varies from green tropical coastline to semi desert and the eternal snow of the northern mountains.

The country embraces the green islands of Pemba, Zanzibar and Mafia. Few places evoke as much romance as these fabled spice islands. These islands are a paradise - evergreen and flourishing, with limitless expanse of clean blue ocean, tall coconut trees and long white sandy beaches.

Zanzibar is well-known for its magnificent beaches. Fuji Beach is close to town and has incredible white sand. Enjoy excellent swimming at Mwangapwani Beach which is about 20 km north of Zanzibar Town. Another excellent beach is Chuini, which is famed for its attractive bay and good watersports.

Tanzania has 53000 km of inland water. Lake Tanganyika is the longest and deepest freshwater lake in all of Africa. Lake Victoria is the world's second largest freshwater lake and the source of the incredible Nile.
