The ETO News-week Service

The information available in the ETO News-week Service comes from the daily circulation of Electronic Trading Opportunities (ETO) between the Trade Points and related Trade Organizations subscribers to the ETO systems.

ETOs are broadcasted everyday via email to all Trade Points and ETO subscribers. The best ETOs are selected and posted in newsgroups and in some countries printed in newspapers every week.

If you wish to participate in the daily exchange of ETOs or you would like to receive them automatically in your email INBOX on a daily basis, please register or send an email to cmoreira@eto.geis.com for further information.

Our intention in this page is to organize the collection, processing and dissemination of ETOs from all existing sources. From this page you can select email tagged EDIFACT based ETOs which you can import to your database management software or email software using the free-format ETOs. Several formats are available depending the level of sophistication you like to use on the operations of the ETO System.

ETO Africa: Browse the ETO Africa

Previous Newsweek : Reference files from 941117 to 951207 with ETO on text form. This files contains old ETOs for analysis and reference.

ETO Free Format : This service includes ETOs received as free-format. The objective of the ETO system is to convert free formats to an ETO-EDIFACT fomat but many organizations prefer for the moment to submit their ETOs as free-format. ETOs free format are reconverted by the UNTPDC using EDI translators to an ETO-EDIFACT format which wich is available at the ETO-EDIFACT Usergroup. This NewsGroup is quite open and users can download large files which are consequently reconverted to ETO-EDIFACT.

ETO Tenders: This service includes ETO Tenders free-format received from government and private tender sources. The files are quite large and we are working on a ETO-Tender EDIFACT translator which will convert existing Tenders to the ETO-EDIFACT message.

ETO Demand:, Special service for ETO-Demand Trade Leads to satisfy specific needs for exporters to identify export opportunities. This service is quite interesting for developing country trying to export more efficiently.

ETO Email Link : Using the potential of the Internet, this ETO service allows users to post their Trade Leads with hyperlinks to their email and URL Web Sites. From the ETO Email Link, users can reply the ETO TradeLead directly just by clicking on the email address of the Trade Lead.

ETO WebLink : This new ETO services allow ETO subscribers to post the link to their Home Page inside the ETO message. The advantage is that users can access Home Pages from the ETO Weblink newsgroup and return back to the newsgroup to continue working on the ETO system. ETO users only need to add the URL and the software automatically points the link to their home page.

ETO-EDI User Group: The ETO-EDI User Goup is a compilation of all incoming ETOs to an a conversion to the ETO-EDIFACT message developed by UNECE. From this ETO-EDI User Group users can retrieve ETO, post new ETOs, subacribe to new gropus and answer the ETO source directly via email. We divided the user grops into 100 Harmonized System categories covering 2 digits of the HS. In the future if required the system will be subdivided into smaller groupings to satisfy final end-user requirements.
