Profitable and sustainable shrimp culture is difficult, if not impossible,

And in today's complex world, shrimp producers have to juggle many
responsibilties, including managing production, researching market information
as well as manipulating a vast amount of raw data.
The Global Aquaculture Network has developed a powerful new tool to help
you manage your time and resources more efficiently.
Starting at our own farms, our software developers examined the processes
and requirements of the shrimp producer, and created a windows-based program
using database technology rather than the traditional spreadsheet.
The benefits are impressive- improved reliability, much faster processing
times, a simplified data input process, and infinite possibilities for
report and graph generation. The program will handle data from 200 ponds
as easily as it handles 10. A powerful graphing package allows data to
be viewed in the most appropriate way for the producer. The inventory control
facility produces detailed reports that help you manage your stock more
effectively.
But even more importantly, this technology allows for the addition
of new modules in the future, as the requirements of the producers increase.
In the network version, for instance, multiple users can add data at the
same time from diffferent terminals. And there will be management guidelines,
an expert system, a head office database, remote monitoring, and a data
import/export facility.
AquaSoft currently represents only the first stage in a continuing
program of product development which will become a fully integrated aqauculture
package.
The aims of global economic development, sustainability and simple farm
econmics often conflict. AquaSoft is designed to integrate these elements

The Global Aquaculture Network is setting up a global communications

button, suppliers can be located and customers found. Trading and technology
transfer will be available at your own office, however remote.
By making monitoring at the farm simpler, the program allows the producer
a more complete understanding of the state of the shrimp and what inputs
to make to improve quality. Accurate use of resources mean lower costs,
less waste, less pollution and less susceptiblity to disease. AquaSoft

The official launch of AquaSoft Farm Manager was at the World Aquaculture
96' & Bangkok Seafood Show. The results were a great success with enquiries
from over 20 countries. The response from the aquaculture community clearly

intelligent and timely decisions, a key factor in the success of any business.
