Note on the alphabetizing used here: In this section I have compiled an index to help
you
find different artists at this site. It is arranged in alphabetical order by artist. Please note that
due
to the artists' different nationalities and customs of their times, sometimes something that seems
like a last name (ie. da Vinci or Angelico) is really not. To avoid confusion, however, I have
placed artists by the last word in their title, so da Vinci for example would be in the "V" section;
Fra Angelico in "A". Although this may look a little strange to some of us, it will be helpful to
people who are unsure as to the proper "meaning" of the names. An exception is artists with
dashes "-" in their names such as Burne-Jones (he would be found under "B"). Artists with
"nicknames" or first names which are more popular than their real last names (ie. Caravaggio or
Raphael) will be listed by the famous name. For example, Raphael would be listed under "R"
even though his last name actually begins with an "S".

Please note that artworks featured in the "Unknown Artist" section will
NOT
