TPI SIGNIFICANT DEVELOPMENTS

November 1978
TPI received BOI-promotional privileges for the manufacture of LDPE at 65,000 metric tons per year. Production commenced in September 1982.

November l984
TPI received BOI-promotional privileges for the manufacture of an increased amount of 60,000 metric tons per year of HDPE.Production began in November 1986.

September 1987
TPI Polyol Co., Ltd. was established to manufacture Polyol at 25,000 metric tons per year.

October l988
Thai Polyurethane Industry Co., Ltd. was established and its production of polyurethane began in 1990.

November 1988
TPI received BOI-promotional privileges for the expansion of LDPE production by 13,000 metric tons per year for export, making a total production capacity to 78,000 metric tons per year.

The export requirement was annulled on uly 27, 1990. TPI was also granted BOI privileges for the increased production of HDPE by 12,000 metric tons to 72,000 metric tons per year.

March 1989
TPI received promotional privileges to produce 100,000 metrictons per year of PP. Production began in April 1991. Promotional privileges were also granted for an increase in ABS production capacity by 8,000 metric tons per year, which began in October 1990. Later TPI transferred the ABS plant, with an annual capacity of 20,000 metric tons, to Thai ABS in December 1991.

October 1989
TPI was granted promotional privileges to produce 15,000 metric tons to EPS per year. Production began in January 1993.

March 1990
TPI transferred its LDPE plant, with an annual capacity of 78,000 metric tons to TPI Polene Company Limited.

December 1991
The company invested in a co-generation project to supply the TPI Group. The project has an annual electricity generating capacity of 100 magawatts, and 1.2 million metric tons of steam.

December 1991
TPI received BOI privileges to expand PP production by 120,000 metric tons to 220,000 metric tons per year. Expanded production began in May 1993.

May 1992
TPI received BOI privileges to expand HDPE productionby 80,000 metric tons from 72,000 to 152,000 metric tons per year.

May 1993
TPI was granted promotional privileges to invest in a Condensate Splitter for the manufacture of Naphtha, Toluene, Diesel Oil, Crude Butane, etc. at an annual capacity of 500,000 metric tons. The first phase of the project (Condensate Plant) is expected to be completed in mid-1995, and the whole project by the end of 1997.

September 1993
A jointventure between TPI, Mitsubishi Rayon Co ., Ltd., Mitsubishi and Thai-MC Co., shareholding ratios of 65%, 17.5%, 12.5% respectively was formed to manufacture PMMA pellets under TPI Polyacrylate Co., Ltd. with production in 1994.

September 1994
TPI signed an agreement to construct a Lube Base Oil plant. The company receivedBOI-promotional privileges to produce base oil at 265 million litres per year with production eginning in 1994.
