In order to meet increasing demand, it was decided to replace the microfiche series ny a new publication on CD/ROM with following advantages:

• user-friendly retrieval based on given selection parameters (e.g. reporting countries, partner countries, products, imports or exports, minimum values): display and priting facilities on PC based on standard formats

• possible data transfer to other programs (format ASCII delimited, compatible with ACCESS, DBase, PARADOX, WORKS, LOTUS123, EXCEL, HARVARD GRAPHICS and many other software for file management, statistical and graphic analyses):

• easy storage and access (possible sharing between users through a LAN with juke box) and low investment in hardware required (CD/ROM drives are available as from US$ 300).

• The first release of PC/TAS is planned by the end of 1994 with the following coverage:

  This CD/ROM will be made available at the price of US$ 900. A 50% discount on this price is offered to developing countries and economies in transition (i.e. US$ 450).
