A centrally located well developed business community
Kangasala, a county of around 22000 inhabitants, is located only 17
kilometers from Tampere (Finland's third largest city) and 35 kilometers
from the Tampere-Pirkkala Airport. The University of Tampere and the
Tampere University of Technology are a stone's throw away. Kangasala is
located at the cross-roads of highways 9 and 12, connecting Finland's
larger western and northern cities. Helsinki, the capital of Finland, is under
two hours away. Kangasala offers a wide variety of high-standard public
and private services and benefits; augmented by those available in nearby
Tampere.
Because of this, and because of Kangasala's pro-industrial policy,

Cultural history and natural beauty
Kangasala is famous for its natural beauty and interesting history. Queen
Kaarina Maununtytär, consort to King Eric XIV, the only Swedish Queen of
Finnish origin (when Finland was under Swedish rule), held residence at
Liuksiala Manor in Kangasala. Neighboring Vääksy Manor belonged to
Duke John, King Eric's brother and later successor to the Crown.
Finland's natural beauty was brought to people's attention by the great
Finnish author Z. Topelius at the end of the 19th century, who was
inspired by the natural beauty of Kangasala. He wrote a poem,
"Kesäpäivä Kangasalla" (A Summer Day in Kangasala) which was put to
music and has become one of Finland's most popular folk songs, which is
also the anthem of Tampere region.
Kangasala is one of the most beautiful regions in Finland with over 25 %
of the area covered by fresh and clean lakes (suitable for drinking).
