Software License Agreement In the spirit of Linux and FreeBSD, Unix Cockpit works with full functionality without crippling and is shareware. Permission is granted without fee to copy and distribute UC, for non-commercial purposes. This permission includes distribution via CD-ROM's, uploading on BBS's or storage of the binary on a public server. Permission is also specifically granted to include UC as part of Linux or FreeBSD system distributions, even for a commercial purpose, as long as no specific sum is charged for UC and UC is part of a large collection of software in the system distribution. Inclusion in any such distribution does not imply that the software is registered. In all cases the binary has to be left original and unchanged. Everybody is free to test the Unix Cockpit shareware to their heart's desire, and to employ it for casual and personal use. However, people who use UC repeatedly in their day-to-day work, and commercial, government and institutional users _must_ register their copies of UC after an evaluation period of thirty days, or else must stop using the software. UC shareware licenses cost $25 / DM 40,-. You should purchase one license per workstation, or one per UC user, whichever is the smaller number. Your support is very much appreciated. The Unix Cockpit is provided 'as-is', without any express or implied warranty, including, without limitation, any warranty or merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. In no event will the author of UC and/or the distributors of UC be held liable for any special, consequential, incidental or indirect damages of any kind arising from the use of this software. UniX11 does not warrant or represent that the software will operate uninterrupted or error free or that all defects in the software are correctable or will be corrected. In no event shall UniX11 or UniX11's licensors be liable to licensee for any special, consequential, incidental or indirect damages of any kind (including without limitation loss of profits or data and personal injury), whether or not UniX11 has been advised of the possibility of such loss, however caused and on any theory of liability, arising out of this agreement. These limitation shall apply notwithstanding the failure of the essential purpose of any limited remedy. In no event will UniX11 be liable for any claim against Licensee by a third party, and the Licensee hereby agrees to indemnify and hold UniX11 harmless for any claims for cost, damage, expense or liability arising out of or in connection with the installation, use and performance of the software licensed hereunder, whether alone or in combination with any other product or service. Some states do not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so the limitation above may not apply to the Licensee. If you don't want to accept the terms of this license agreement, don't use this software. U.S. GOVERNMENT RESTRICTED RIGHTS LEGEND Use, duplication or disclosure of the software by the Government is subject to restrictions as set forth in subparagraph (c)(1)(ii) of the Rights in Technical Data and Computer software clause at 52.227-7013.
