SCO is advancing the state of the art in device driver technology. As an active participant in Project UDI, SCO is working jointly with a number of system vendors and IHVs, including Adaptec, Digital, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Interphase, Lockheed Martin, NCR, and Sun, to create a cross-vendor, cross-platform device driver interface.
UDI will allow unmodified driver source code to be used to build drivers for any UDI-conformant system. In many cases, the same driver binary will run on multiple operating systems for the same processor family.
