UAs conforming to RFC 1866, the HTML 2.0 specification, are required to display all printing characters from ISO 8859-1, Latin-1.
Named entities are provided in HTML 2.0 (RFC 1866) for accented letters. All UAs conforming to RFC 1866 should display all these correctly. They are recommended but not required to also display additional entities, corresponding to the remaining characters in the G1 section of 8859-1.
The complete set of 8859-1 entities is listed in an appendix to RFC 1866. This page tests whether a UA can render all the named entities correctly. The two columns should be identical, assuming a UA renders the numeric references correctly, see below.

Historically, some browsers on the Macintosh platform have incorrectly displayed some of these characters, which are encoded in different places in the standard Mac character set and corresponding font encoding vector. All of these characters can be displayed correctly on the Mac if care is taken. Characters which have caused problems are:
