These are the base files for Arabic language localization; you need it to correctly display 8bits arabic characters, and for proper alfabetical sorting and representation of dates and numbers according to arabic language conventions. Note that this package doesn't handle right-to-left and left-to-right switching when displaying nor the isolate-initial-medial-final shapes of letters; it is to the xterm, application or virtual console driver to do that.
