Notes about this version

Have a look to the News file to see the new features and resolved bugs.

Currently, some features are buggy and I prefer to disable them, for example:
  - Instrument vibrato is disabled.
  - Masking cut&paste is disabled.
  - Some VST plugins could crash the program. Be careful, test them before to use them.
  - Other ones...

You can copy the keyb.cfg file from an older skale version to the actual skale directory if you want to use your old keyboard shortcuts.

Right now I don't have time to write any documentation;( If you need help try the www.skale.org forums where you can ask your questions to other skale users).

Windows

Be sure you have DirectX 7.0 installed (or better).

Use the Config Utility to create the config files (Skale.cfg and Keyb.cfg) The main config file (Skale.cfg) can be edited manually too. The Keyboard shortcuts file actually is binary (in the future it will be ASCII).

After it run the Skale.exe file and enjoy it!!

Linux x86

The configuration file under Linux is SkaleLinux.cfg. Modify manually if needed (sorry, no time to build a Linux config file editor). The keys shortcuts are saved into a binary file called KeybLinux.cfg (I'll change as soon as I can to ASCII).

The program has been compiled under RedHat 9.0 (Skale.x86). Tell me if you have any problems under another distribution.

Don't forget to set the executable permission on the Skale.x86 file!

Under Linux Skale needs the SDL library installed to run.

Thanks to ccm (hi linux master!) for his support.

Macintosh

Maybe a version for x86 will be released

License

Skale is Freeware. It means you don't have to pay to use it.
This is not a commercial program so there is no warranty. Use it at your own risk.

Minimum requirements

Pentium II
16bit Graphic Card (at least)

Under Windows:
Microsoft Windows 9x/2000/XP
DirectX 7.0

Under Linux:
SDL
glibc 2.3
