Short: Amiga port of mlddc, another Monolith client Author: peoyli@algonet.se (P-O Yliniemi) Uploader: peoyli algonet se (P-O Yliniemi) Type: comm/tcp Version: 3.1.8/1.0 Requires: dev/ade/ixemul.lha Architecture: m68k-amigaos ************************************************ ** mlddc 3.1.8 Amiga port 1.0 by P-O Yliniemi ** ************************************************ This is the Amiga port of mlddc, a program that updates the Monolith database and nameservers with your current IP. The only changes I had to make was in the makefile (just the CFLAGS and BINDIR). If you want to remake the program, you must have the complete GCC package installed on your system. Installation: *-*-*-*-*-*-* Copy the file "mlddc" to a directory in your command path, "amitcp:bin", "c:" and "Miami:" are good choices. Usage from shell: *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* 'mlddc' reads your hostname, MID and password from stdin. Create a file with this info and type: "mlddc < mymldata" To deactivate your host use "mlddc d < mymldata" If you have "sh" installed, you can use the UNIX shell script 'mlupd' to update and deactivate your host: Activate: "mlupd" Deactivate: "mlupd d" Usage from Miami: *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Go to the "Events" page in the Miami configuration (main program GUI). Type "miami:online.miami" in the string gadget for the "Online event". Set the cycle gadget so it says "ARexx". Create the ARexx script miami:online.miami ------------------------ cut --------------------------------- /* Things to do when Miami gets online */ address command "c:mlddc < s:mymldata" ------------------------ cut --------------------------------- The reason I suggest you to put the command in an ARexx script is that you might want to do something more than just update your IP. You could also have used a shell script for the command, and the contents of the file should only have to be: ------------------------ cut --------------------------------- c:mlddc < s:mymldata ------------------------ cut --------------------------------- Since ARexx is more powerful than shell scripts, I suggest you to use the ARexx variant. Offline scripts: ------------------------ cut --------------------------------- /* Things to do when Miami gets offline */ address command "c:mlddc d < s:mymldata" ------------------------ cut --------------------------------- or ------------------------ cut --------------------------------- c:mlddc d < s:mymldata ------------------------ cut --------------------------------- Change the paths if necessary. *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* snail: e-mail: peoyli@algonet.se P-O Yliniemi homepage: http://www.algonet.se/~peoyli Aspvagen 4E voice: +46-927-12293 SE-957 32 Overtornea SWEDEN *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
