This requires UMP support in the kernel. - client-rt.conf is no longer supported. Custom changes made to this config should be moved to client.conf. Clients that try to load the client-rt.conf will emit a warning and be directed to client.conf automatically for backwards compatibility. - The module-filter-chain code was moved to a new filter-graph plugin. This made it possible to add filter-graph support directly in audioconvert. It is now possible to run up to 8 run-time swappable filter-graphs inside streams and nodes. This should make it easier to add effects to streams and device nodes. - Bluetooth support for BAP broadcast links and support for hearing aids using ASHA was added. - Many more bugfixes and improvements. * PipeWire - Nodes are now only scheduled when ready to signal the driver. - Add slovenian translation. (#4156) - Link errors are handled better. - The videoadapter is now enabled by default but no videoconverter is loaded yet by default. - Streams now have support for ProcessLatency. - Streams now have a method to emit events. - The RequestProcess event and command can now pass around extra properties. - Local timestamps are now used for logging. - client-rt.conf is no longer supported. Custom changes made to this config should be moved to client.conf. Clients that try to load the client-rt.conf will emit a warning and be directed to cliert.conf automatically to preserve backwards compatibility. - pw_stream now has an API to return unused buffers. * modules - module-combine-stream can now mix streams. - Links in error are now destroyed by link-factory. - The netjack2 driver can now also create streams that autoconnect when specified. (#4125) - Many updates and bugfixes to the RTP modules. - The netjack2 driver can now bind to a custom IP and port pair. (#4144) - The loopback module and module-raop have support for ProcessLatency, which can be used to query and update the latency. - The profiler module can now reduce the sampling rate. - The filter-chain was optimized some more. - The filter-chain gained some more plugins: param_eq, ebur128, dcblock. - Support for fftw based convolver was added. - Some module arguments can now be overridden. - The VBAN receiver now creates new streams per stream name. This fixes three different performance regressions that were reported on the SQLite Forum. - When two or more queries have the same estimated cost, use the one with the fewer bytes per row. * Enhance the iif() SQL function so that it can accept any number of arguments greater than or equal to two. * Enhance the session extension so that it works on databases that make use of generated columns. * Omit the SQLITE_USE_STDIO_FOR_CONSOLE compile-time option which was not implemented correctly and never worked right. In its place add the SQLITE_USE_W32_FOR_CONSOLE_IO compile-time option. This option applies to command-line tools like the CLI only, not to the SQLite core. It causes Win32 APIs to be used for console I/O instead of stdio. This option affects Windows builds only. * Three new options to sqlite3_db_config(). All default "on". Especially of note, inflate has been optimized on various instruction sets and also the generic C code has seen improvements, and we have improvements for arches where unaligned accesses are not possible (lacking instructions to handle unaligned access) and also improvements on big endian. * x86-64 AVX2: Inflate ~17.8% faster, Deflate unchanged. -4.6KB library size. * Aarch64: Inflate ~2.3% faster, Deflate unchanged. - 5.5KB library size. * We also took some time to do a comprehensive cleanup of the now misleading UNALIGNED_OK option and of all the "unaligned" functions. We have noticed that some distros have been disabling these, fearing they are using potentially unsafe unaligned pointers, but we already fixed that in 2.1.0-beta1. Since then, these "unaligned" settings/functions have been referring to using unaligned accesses in safe ways, like utilizing unaligned intrinsics or memcpy to fix alignment for example and selecting what safe method is optimal to the arch. So disabling that instead disabled several safe optimizations. * Because this was obviously misleading certain distros into disabling these optimizations, we have cleaned it up, removed a lot of unnecessary preprocessor checks, and made detection of optimal methods happen during compile instead of configure. As a bonus, this cleaned up a lot of code and also let us not compile in many extra variants of compare256/longest_match, saving about 8-10KB of library size. * PS: s390x is currently potentially unsafe, CI reports a failure on the MSAN test, this is pending investigation by IBM. See #1845. * Any Zlib-ng version on s390x built with VX-extensions enabled compiled using a buggy Clang version will be unsafe. ==== zvbi ==== Version update (0.2.42 -> 0.2.43) - version update to 0.2.43 * Fix building and enable testing for Windows platforms. * Fix building for musl. * Add options to disable tests and examples. * Fix for static declaration of ‘sincos’ follows non-static declaration. - Drop obsoleted patch: zvbi-gcc14.patch ==== zypper ==== Version update (1.14.81 -> 1.14.84) Subpackages: zypper-needs-restarting - Let zypper dup fail in case of (temporarily) unaccessible repos (bsc#1228434, bsc#1236939, fixes #446) - version 1.14.84 - New system-architecture command (bsc#1236384) Prints the detected system architecture. - version 1.14.83 - requires: libzypp >= 17.36.0. - Change versioncmp command to return exit code according to the comparison result (#593) - version 1.14.82
