General Background and Description of the Trade Point:
The Bangkok Trade Point, BTP, was established in 1993 in cooperation with United Nations Conference on Trade on Development (UNCTAD) and funding from KV Info Technologies Co. Ltd, a private company founded by a small group of pioneer businessmen seeking to expand the overseas trade and investment activities of Thailand. BTP is a part UNCTAD's network of over 50 trade points in over 40 countries around the world.
The main objective of The BTP is to promote trade and investment of Thailand, along with help contribute to the growth of the nation's economic progress. To help with this effort BTP has teamed up with the government of Thailand, United Nations - Economic and Social Committee for Asia Pacific, UNESCAP and other trade & investment related organizations to provide a "one-stop" service for both domestic and foreign businessmen. The BTP also host the UN Trade Point Development Centre, a hub of international research and development activities for Trade Points in the SE Asia region.

Products and Services Offered:
- Trade Information Service
- On-line information network named "Thai TradeNet" offers business communities with trade related databases, trade policy and Electronic Trading Opportunities (ETO) tm
- Trade & investment consultantcy service regarding trade related rules and procedures for exporting and importing etc. In addition BTP also maintain a comprehensive database of Thai importers and exporters directories.
- Trade Promotion
- One of the frequently used service at the BTP is the trade inquiry service. The BTP assist domestic and foreign business in bringing potential trading partners together.
- We also assist business partners in arranging meeting, providing liaison office service along with collecting information on Thai products and suppliers, and locating potential distributors for your products
- BTP help arrange trade mission to Thailand along with organizing trade mission from Thailand to visit partner countries in order to promote bilateral trade.
- BTP also provide hand-on assistance to visiting foreign trade missions so they can effective achieved their goals in Thailand along with help arranging seminars to encouraging mutual trade and investment.
- Trade & Investment Research
- For our domestic businessmen, BTP provide information on market research, import rules and regulations along with contact names and information on potential foreign business partners.
- For our foreign business men, BTP provide information along with assistance to over come language and cultural barriers. BTP assist new comers to Thai market with services such as market survey and research, agents and distributors search and more.
- Publications and Trade News
- BTP publish a bi-weekly newsletter comprising of import regimes, countries profiles, trade opportunities and trade & investment classified advertisements for our domestic readers.
At The Bangkok Trade Point we have vast amount of information for trade resources directly from the United Nations organizations such as UNESCAP, UNCTAD, ITC etc. We also cooperate locally with Ministry of Commerce, local chambers of commerce, Thai Customs Agency, Banks, Freight forwarders and Insurance Brokers to provide a one stop-shopping service for international trade & investment related transaction.
