Gat Food Canneries owned and operated by Kibbutz Givat Hayim, is Israel's leading citrus fruit processor and exporter.
The plant was established in 1942 in the fertile Sharon Valley where much of Israel's citrus fruit is grown.
In 1945, the plant processed 2,000 tons of citrus fruit. Today, Gat processes approximately 100 times this quantity.
Gat processes the following fruit:
oranges, white grapefruits, red grapefruits, mandarins, easy peels, tangerines, lemons and tropical mixtures.
Tankers, Drums, Rotoplast, Bag-In-Box of various sizes, Brick-packed, PET bottles,
6 oz Cans, 12 oz Cans, 32 oz Cans, etc.
Gat produts are sold to retail market, the wholesale the institutional market, as
well as as to food industries for reprocessing.
Many of the items in the Gat product line are produced according to customer specifications. Gat has an ultra-modern food
laboratory which specializes in developing tailor-made products, e.g. bases for soft drink production, mixed tropical-fruit
concentrated and nectars.
