It is often said that the most successful foreign suppliers in Norway are the companies making regular calls on the distributors and/or end-users to better understand the market place and customer needs. -Norwegian top level businessmen often have advanced educational degrees from other countries, especially the United States. Most of them are well informed about U.S. trade and business in general and the English language is well spoken and understood throughout the Norwegian society. -There are no visa requirements for U.S. citizens visiting Norway, but businessmen should note the following holidays during CY-1995: April 13 - Holy Thursday April 14 - Good Friday April 16 - Easter Monday May 1 - Labor Day May 17 - Independence Day May 25 - Ascension Day Dec 25 - Christmas Day Some of the Norwegian manufacturing plants and major businesses are closed for 3-4 weeks summer holidays from mid-July to mid- August.
