IV. RESOURCES The Econ/Commercial Section of the American Embassy in Nouakchott has one Foreign Service National (FSN) who spends 60 percent of his time on commercial work. He is supervised by one State Department FSO who spends about 20 percent of her time on economic and commercial activities. The commercial section houses the commercial library containing reference directories, trade journals, guides, some local publications and newspapers of interest to investors or traders. Trade information is distributed to potential Mauritanian importers and to those who have expressed interest in doing business with U.S. companies. Outdated publications (directories, buyers guide, etc.) are distributed to importers seeking to introduce U.S. products into the Mauritanian market.
