Agricultural Sector Best Prospects: The most favorable prospects for U.S. agricultural exports are found in various bulk grains including corn, soybeans, wheat and rice as well as in many high value products. Growing poultry and dairy industries are expected to continue to boost U.S. corn and soybean shipments, while growing population and rising income is expected to increase wheat and rice consumption and U.S. export prospects. Higher disposable incomes and a trend toward consuming more convenience foods are expected to result in excellent prospects for U.S. exports of fresh fruit (mainly grapes, apples and pears), processing fruits and vegetables (especially canned fruits), snack foods (including chips, cookies and candies), fruit and vegetable juices (including bulk concentrate and retail sizes), and breakfast cereals.
