Bug id 1237469: Unable to send a terminal ID string of "ANSI" to the connecting host. Bug 1223352 ----------- Unable to launch & close TELNETW from the MS-Office Toolbar It is possible to install into the MS-Office 4.2 toolbar extra applications. If you install the TelnetW app into this toolbar, using the command line c:\pcnfspro\telnet\telnetw working directory c:\pcnfspro\telnet It is now possible to click on the toolbar to start the telnetW application. The application starts up and allows connection to a remote host. If Telnet application is now minimized, and then it is attempted to be maximized using the new toolbar button, this attempt however corrupts the Telnet display and hangs the Windows. Bug 1232689 ----------- When starting an MS application such as excel from the CMD button in telnet, Excel will start but telnet will report a fatal error. This causes problems with the customers DDE scripts which then halt. Telnet error is: CMD-F-WINERR, WINDOWS error #01 - unable to execute cmd Bug 1234887 ----------- Telnet will not work because it is hard-coded to use the SunSoft PCNFS 2.0 winsock. If a customer running windows 95 (a 32 bit winsock and tcp/ip stack!! ours is 16 bit!!!!) they can't run telnet because it is looking for the SunSoft winsock. Patch Installation Instructions: This patch consists of one executable file: TELNETW.EXE. It will be installed into c:\solarnet\telnet or in the telnet directory of wherever you installed PC-NFSpro. On the system where PCNFSpro 2.0 is installed, from filemanager in Windows run the self-extracting patch executable. It will save the existing file(s) to be patched as filename.BFP and replace it(them) with the file(s) supplied in this patch. It will also create a directory in PC-NFSpro's base directory(c:\solarnet or whatever you called it) and copy the readme into it -- the directory name will be the patch number. If you want to remove the patch, double click on the patch icon and it will remove the installed file(s) and restore the old file(s). OPERATIONAL NOTES: In order to select a Terminal ID of "ANSI", perform the following steps. 1) Start the Telnet application and select the Setup -> Terminal pull down menu. 2) In the resulting "Terminal Setup" dialog box make sure the Automatic Terminal ID feature is disabled. Do this by clicking on the "Auto" check box so that no check mark appears in the box. 3) The Terminal ID pull down menu is now enabled. Select the Terminal ID of "ANSI" from the menu, and click "OK". 4) When the Telnet application connects to a host computer it will Identify itself as an "ASCII" terminal.
