Ground Zero Software, Inc. releases Bedlam 2. Version 1.0.

Mankind has been virtually wiped out by an extraterrestrial armada!
This shoot'em up game play puts you in the seat of the XJ-777,
code-named "Annihilator". Only you can help save the solar system from
ruthless alien domination. Bedlam 2 is a fast action, arcade-style game
with forty-five levels of blistering game play. As you blast away at
the invading forces, your ship moves along the bottom of the screen
trying to avoid a barrage of enemy firepower, collisions with attacking
ships and the occasional chunk of floating space debris. By racking up
points along the way, you earn much-needed extra ships, and can even
capture hunks of gold bars released when you've demolished the ships of
some of the greedy trespassers. Other fun and nasty surprises
materialize during your long mission to free our galaxy from this evil
infestation.

Bedlam 2 is a major upgrade to Bedlam, our shareware game of three years
ago. Bedlam 2 contains over 10 music tracks utilizing QuickTime
technology , tons of "stereo" sound effects, and several full 256 color
3D rendered images. The many exciting and nerve-wracking features are
sure to challenge your senses and give your mouse finger a workout.

Will you choose to accept this mission? Mankind is depending on you!

These tables enable you to convert Cyrillic HTML files

MacCyrillic, ISO-IR-111 (KOI-8), ISO-8859-5, Windows-1251,
IBM866 (Code Page 866), Unicode.
Thereby you need to write your Cyrillic HTML files only with "native"

Version 2.0 now allows you to convert between any two
of the Cyrillic encodings.

***Starting June 15 and running till September 15 there will be a contest
that anyone can enter to win up to $500. All it takes is writing a useful
tool that can be used within CopyPaste to act on the clipboard contents.

One of the early wonders of the Mac was its revolutionary ability to do copy
and paste across various applications. Unlike other areas in the Mac's
system software that have changed and progressed over the years, copying and
pasting has not evolved. How many times have you found yourself going back
and forth copying in one application and pasting in a different application,
wishing to yourself that you could copy 5-10 items at a time, then go to
another application and paste each of these items. Now you can with a
vengeance! Drop CopyPaste on top of the System Folder and it will tell you
it wants to go into the Extension Folder, hit OK. Restart. CopyPaste
magnifies the clipboard in different ways. We call these:

More Graceful Textures for your desktop

Many thanks to those of you who wrote in saying they liked my last batch
of textures, "Ambient Grace Textures." Of course, being a creative
person...and staying up far too late these days... I have come up with a
successor: Ambient Grace Textures 2!

MY STYLE OF TEXTURES

Like collection #1, these were designed for real-world use. I have been
seeing a lot of texture packages on the net recently that burn my
eye-balls off if viewed for more than 5 minutes. Worse, some others'
collections are so "busy" that I get confused where my icons are on the
screen. So, these are "graceful", and more relaxing to look at than most.

HOW TO MAKE IT WORK

Like collection #1, these all require the shareware program TEXTURE
INSTALLER 2.1 to work. You can download it from most of the big sites
like Info-mac and such. It is in a suite of programs called DESKTOP
TEXTURES SUITE.

A sample URL to try is:

http://hyperarchive.lcs.mit.edu/HyperArchive/gui/desktop-textures-suite-21.hqx
Well, it took me about 20 hours to make all these textures up so I figure
if I charge $5 for the batch, that's 25 cents an hour. Not bad! I've
made less. The other set was Email-ware, you could just send me a note
saying you liked it. This time, I'm going to pretend that someone is
actually going to pay for these. If you are bigwig at a graphics firm and
need textures, hire me. If you are just plain loaded or even well-off
(I'm NOT), please send me something for my efforts... a gift certificate
for a trial size toothpaste, anything! If even ONE person sends me some
money I'm going to freak out, jump up and down and... um... spend it
immediately.

Enjoy!

What's MacMolecule 2 Lite?

MacMolecule 2 Lite is a freeware successor to our MacMolecule 1.0,
MacMolecule 1.5, and MacMolecule 1.7 programs. MacMolecule Lite reads a
molecule specification file and displays it on your computer screen. With
MacMolecule Lite's fast rendering engine you can open molecules with
thousands of atoms and rotate them in real-time with the mouse. These
large molecules are rendered with excellent quality and speed.

Why "Lite"?

MacMolecule Lite is the scaled down verion of the fully featured
MacMolecule. The full version has a toolbar, functions for erasing and
coloring atoms, the ability to save a view of a molecule with annotated
text, exporting molecules as GIF files for direct inclusion into web pages,
and much much more. For information about purchasing the full version of
MacMolecule, or PCMolecule, please visit <http://www.molvent.com> with your
web browser. This site also contains many molecule files and tutorials, as

Hide and Seek: You're trapped on a damaged spacecraft with a
dangerous alien. Its asleep. Use your cunning to locate it and
blast it into space, or trip over it and let it eat you.

System Requirements: 8-bit color.

You are a junior crew member on the SS Earhart, a state-of-the-art
exploration vessel. You didn't know it was doomed when you got on.
On one of your many stops you picked up some sort of creature, and
while you were cleaning the airlock it ate the rest of the crew and
vandalized the ship. You can' tell much from the damaged computer,
except that the ship is headed straight into the sun and the
creature is not moving (asleep?). You move from room to room,
trying to figure out where the creature is so you can blast it out
into space, without walking into any irradiated or burned out areas,
or the creature itself.

If you can eliminate the creature, you might be able to repair
enough of the ship to steer away from the sun and signal for
rescue...

SPEED DEMON 1.1: 3D Car Racing with Carnage for the Power Macintosh

Speed Demon boasts many cutting-edge features:

-Hi-resolution 3D texture mapped environments with a polygon-based 3D
engine -Continuous network play with up to five players over AppleTalk
or TCP/IP connections -Single player competitions against artificially
intelligent opponents -Two play modes: a race across the country and a
demolition derby -Weaponry! Blow your opponents out of your way with
missiles, guns, photons, mines, oil shooters, and really big bowling
balls -3D positional sound effects -16-track 44kHz stereo musical score
-Atmospheric effects such as fog and snow -Direct support of the
Thrustmaster Formula T2, FCS, WCS, and CH Products devices. -Ambient
objects such as hot air balloons, construction sites, road obstacles,
wildlife, and airplanes

Race across the country on Interstate 90 in Speed Demon's track mode.
While you try to complete each of the states the game passes through
within your time limits, you'll have to deal with sharp curves, enemy
cars blocking your way, obstacles in the road, and annoyances such as
incoming missiles and land mines dropped by your opponents. Or try
demolition derby mode, and get thrown in an arena with five
heavily-armed cars as you attempt to be the last survivor.

The shareware download is limited to two players in network games, and
consists of one state on Interstate 90 and a demolition derby arena.
Users who register for $20 will be able to download five additional
states, and unlock five-player net games.

Screenshots are available at http://www.cerbdev.com/mac/speeddemon

Speed Demon requires a Power Macintosh with 16MB of free RAM, and Open
Transport 1.1 or newer is required for network games.

Bugs have been fixed from version 1.0, and gameplay improved.

sensitivity (defaults to setting from previous versions.) *Moved the
difficulty selection to the preferences dialog *The difficulty selection
now affects the curviness of the road as well as your time limits *The
car now leans out of curves instead of into them *Fixed a refresh
problem in the preferences dialog *Fixed a potential problem with the
registration system

What's fixed in version 1.1: *Horrible things happened to the graphics
on 601 and 603 based machines using the default preferences settings on
monitors greater than 640x480. Fixed. *The turning radius has been
decreased in the demolition derby. *The enemy cars are easier to kill in

Super Othello is an implementation of the classic board game Othello,

ends.

Super Othello lets you play against a human opponent, your Mac or just
simply watch your Mac play against itself. It supports eight different
levels of difficulty, as well as saving and logging of games. You can
also see legal moves. This new version of Super Othello adds new color

Super Othello 2.2 requires any Macintosh or compatible with System 7.0

P.P.S. (You may have noticed that this scheme has some similarities to
other schemes, such as NeXTMac, and The Next Copland, and NeXT Tempo,
but those are not solid NeXT schemes. This scheme is the closet of the
NeXT schemes. The icons are all drawn corectly, no weird looking errors.
All the cicn resources are done to match NeXTStep as closely as
PHYSICALY possible. The other schemes are just trying to combine NeXT
features and Mac features. I wanted to escape that format and go for the
COMPLETE NeXT look. So, if you notice any similarities between schemes,
don't worry, they are not stealing from me, and I'm not stealing from

Here is the new (1.6.1), improved version of the "Verbs&Nouns"
application.

"Verbs&Nouns" is an application that helps you to learn the inflection
patterns of verbs and nouns in a foreign language. It can be used as a
dictionary as well.

The program lets you create a database of words. You can easily
construct the inflection rules for words that are regular. You can
include other information about each word, such as a translation,
grammar characteristics, comments, etc. The program automatically
generates exercises to allow you to practise inflection or translation.
You can identify many groups of words to use them in exercises or for
browsing. The application supports sound for browsing or exercises.

There are some inflection dictionaries for this program available
already. There are:
Italian Verbs [/info-mac/edu/lang/italian-nouns-11.hqx],
Italian Nouns [/info-mac/edu/lang/italian-verbs-127.hqx],
Polish Nouns [/info-mac/edu/lang/polish-nouns-12.hqx],
Russian Verbs and Nouns [/info-mac/edu/lang/],
Swiss-German Verbs and Nouns,

I've also adapted a huge public domain English-to-English

permission to include the program on the Info-Mac, or any other, CD-ROM.

Abstract:

WWII SkyFighters is the first (and still the only) Mac flight-sim to offer
these
two features:

#1- Built-in, direct peer to peer TCP/IP support: This means that
SkyFighers does
not require (or use) a dedicated server or 3rd party software for play over the
Internet. This feature makes it easier than ever before for up to 4 players to
fly together over the Internet.

#2- Custom Paint Jobs: SkyFighters allows you to customize the aircraft's
"paint
jobs." Using any PICT compatible paint program you can change to the look
of your
aircraft in minutes.

Additional WWII SkyFighters features: -Force Vector Flight Model -Network play
for up to 4 players on up to 4 teams -AppleTalk, LocalTalk, or Ethernet also
supported -Direct Modem or Serial cable support for 2 players -Choose from
4 WWII
era aircraft, P51, Me109, Zero and Corsair. -All aircraft are fully texture
mapped -Aircraft surfaces move visibly, viewed either from inside or outside
-Competition format for "fair" and structured aerial duels -Choose from 4
"worlds", each with close air bases for constant action -In flight communication
between all combatants, easily send/receive text messages while you fly -Many
exterior views to enjoy the action

System Requirements:

Macintosh computer, PPC or fast 68040, System 7 or later, 256 colors, fills
640x480, 832x624, or 1024x768 size monitors, requires 5 megs free RAM, uses 3
megs hard disk space. Direct MacTCP/IP Internet, Serial cable, Modem,
AppleTalk/Ethernet all supported for multiplayer connections. Works best with a
28800 connection on the Internet.
