This "3D Touch-Me Textures Sampler1.1" contains 4 High Quality Multimedia 3D
Textures. This is a quicker downlaod, to see the type & High Quality of the "3D
Touch-Me Textures". If you like these look for Vol1.1. All of the textures
in the "3D Touch-Me Textures" Volumes are all Top-Notch!!!

(these multimedia backgrounds are formated to use in "Desktop Textures
Suite 2.1" a great application bundle here on Info-Mac. Do a software
search for "Desktop Textures Suite 2.1" if needed)

These "3D Touch-Me Textures" ARE NOT "extensions or control Panels" to change
your "Mac System" in anyway.

They ARE professionally designed "3D pattern pict tiles" Pict is the same
format which come with your Mac System Software. When you see the
differents with
these "3D Touch-Me Textures", you'll be AMAZED!!!

The "3D Touch-Me Textures" DO NOT use any more System Memory or RAM then the
original pattern backgrounds in the "Desktop Patterns" control panel. The
"3D-Touch-Me Textures" just look incredibility BETTER!!!

These "3D Touch-Me Textures" desktop backgrounds do look Fantastic with: Aaron
Kaleidoscope - High-Tech or Copland icons!!!

Well, since everybody has to pick a desktop background when they use their Mac,
it's time you have some High Quality, GREAT selections to choose from. See for
yourself how good these desktop backgrounds look.

Subject: [*] BertrandFAT10.sit.hqx

BertrandFAT 1.0 - a symbolic logic problem solver for the MacIntosh. Shareware
($30 for an individual license). This FAT version runs in native mode on both
PowerPCs and 680x0 Macs. (Also available in PowerPC and 68K versions).
Includes the Bertie font, a brief manual ("Read Me"), a license agreement,
a program to facilitate the registration process ("Register"), Register's
help file ("Register.txt"), and a folder of example problems.

Bertrand is both an educational aid for students of logic and a practical tool
for philosophers, logicians, computer programmers and mathematicians. Using an
algorithm inspired by the "consistency tree" method found in Leblanc and
Wisdom's textbook "Deductive Logic", Bertrand proceeds by decomposition and
instantiation to solve first-order predicate logic statements for
satisfiability, validity, equivalence, "logical truth" and "logical
falsity." Subject-equality is supported. The program also produces
truth-tables for truth-functional sentences.

During the solution process, Bertrand issues "status reports", giving the user
insight into the method by which Bertrand constructs its tree. These status
reports can be stepped through one at a time, or they can be turned off
entirely
to speed up the solution process. Once Bertrand has solved a given problem,
the
tree constructed in the process is displayed in a scrolling window. A summary
of results is given in a separate window. If applicable, a model in the form
of
a truth-value assignment to atomic statements is provided. Tree, Truth Table,
and Premise files can be saved or printed, once the program has been
registered.

System requirements: a minimum 1 meg of free RAM is recommended, as is
System 7.1 or higher.

Hello,

This is the new 2.5.3x upgrade of the famous "Boris's Patch" for Aaron
extension, which has its first realise almost two years ago...

This patch is made to be applied on the latest version 1.5.3 of the
Aaron extension.

What does it do?
It will replace all the standard Mac/OS 8 (copland) icons provided by
the Aaron extension by some new ones with much more colours, releif and
fun, in order to put a little bit more of happiness in your relations
with your machine... :-)

As all the other Boris's upgrades and patchs you'll be able to find on
the Web, on world wide magazines's CD-ROMs and floppies, etc., this
Boris's Patch for Aaron 1.5.3 was realised because:
       "... It's much better with a Mac!..."

CDFinder 1.2.2

CDFinder catalogs CD-ROMs, ZIPs, floppies, SyQuests, and everything else that
turns (even your file server..) and allows you to search for anything in those
catalog files.

It is very fast, supports drag&drop, is PowerPC native (but also fast on any
other Mac with at least a 68020 CPU), and is bilingual (English/German).

CDFinder is shareware (15 US$ for a single user license) and quite popular
already.

The new version contains two bugfixes and one new feature: - When launching
without the extension "AppleScript" or "Finder Scripting Addition", CDFinder
tries to display a dialog, explaining that some functions are not available. In
version 1.2.1 however, the German version of this dialog was missing and thus
freezing CDFinder. Thanks to Wolfgang Warmbold for the report! - The display of
labels in the main window and "View With Icons" was incorrect for catalog
entries with a comment. Thanks to Holger Ruhnke for the report! - It is now
possible to select a catalog item by typing the first character of its
name.

Give it a try!

Are you someone who gets really annoyed at those people who always seem to know
how many days it is until a certain event. (Hi John, did you know its only 278
more days to my birthday? Better make sure you buy me a present!). Well, if you
cant beat them, join them.

Days To Go is a simple reminder program that can be used for a variety of
purposes. As the name suggests, it can be used to count how many days it is
until a specific date. In addition, Days To Go can be used count how many
days it has been since a specific date. Recurring dates can be entered (for
example,
Christmas or a birthday), and entries can be automatically deleted once the
date
has passed (useful for once off occasions).

When you enter the date you also enter three messages (to be shown before the
date, on the date and after the date). The day count is shown on the screen
with
the appropriate message every time you start or restart your computer.

Full documentation is included within the program (just click the About
buttone,
or select About from the Apple menu). If you have any problems, queries,
suggestions or bug reports, please contact us at <midnight@kagi.com>.

Version 2.0.1 fixes a few minor problems with recurring dates, and extends the
range of dates that can be entered (dates can now range from 1904 to 2039).

Requirements: Any Mac; HyperCard 1.2 or later (or HyperCard Player). Update
-3/2/1997. Now has keyboard shortcuts. Supports both 80 and 100 bits
(subframes)
per frame. Paste results directly into ProTools and Sound Designer II time
windows. Time display optionally in seconds & decimal fractions, or rounded (to
1/2 second, nearest second, or up). Shareware, $10.

MusiCalc is a multi-functional HyperCard-based music and time calculator which
will add, subtract, multiply, and divide time on a scale of minutes and
seconds.
Entries are free-form and may be corrected, annotated, copied, cut, pasted,
and
recalculated.

MusiCalc consists of 4 calculator elements: 1) MusiCalc, a calculator for
musical time relationships (calculates time from bars & tempo, bars from
time & tempo, and tempo from bars & time, and converts beats-per-minute to
frames-per-beat & vice-versa); 2) TimeCalc, a time calculator which
properly adds, subtracts, multiplies and divides minutes, seconds, frames,
and bits (with optional entry of tenths, hundredths, etc. in place of, or
combined with, these subdivisions); 3) BarCalc, a formula evaluator which
simplifies computing the length of a piece of music, particularly music
with changing meters and/or repeating sections whose measure-number count
does not correspond to elapsed beats (BarCalc can be used for any kind of
multi-part formula evaluation); and 4) SMPTECalc, which calculates sum and
difference times using a stored SMPTE timecode number and MusiCalc or
TimecCalc results, facilitating re-synchronization.

Subject: [*] NetPresenz 4.1, an FTP, Gopher, and Web server

What's New in NetPresenz 4.1?

Improved Robustness

This version is primarily a bug fix release. We have stress tested the
server very hard and it should be much more reliable under high load
conditions. In a 100 hour period of hammering on an LC630 (68040 running
System 7.5.5 and Open Transport 1.1.1) it handled on average per hour over
1000 FTP connections, over 1200 HTTP connections, over and over 370
Megabytes of transferred data. It was running with the default memory
partition and refused an average of 68 connections per hour because of
memory restrictions.

Particular bug fixes include problems with PASV mode, problems downloading
some MacBinary files, -32 and -302 errors, problems with CGIs and
parameters containing %XX encoded data.

Improved HTTP Support

Also in this version we have rounded out the CGI support, adding support for:

* CGI authentication.
* the full request and pragma CGI parameters.
* the host CGI parameter which allows a form of multihoming.
* Server Side Includes (SSI), counters and include files, file modification
date and so forth.
* Longer AppleEvent timeouts.

We've also added support for missing files (missing.html, missing. acgi,
etc) which will be returned if the file is missing. This allows you to
have a customised response for outdated links, as well as allowing you to
use CGIs to report or redirect references to moved files or to fake out an
entire directory hierarchy using a single CGI.

And we now support the If-Modified-Since field for improved performance
with caching proxy servers.

Subject: [*] PrintUseMonitor 3.4

PrintUseMonitor monitors the pages printed on Quickdraw printers,
including all the StyleWriter series and LaserWriter 300 printer,
and displays a warning dialog when the print cartridge is about
to run out.

PrintUseMonitor displays a progress bar indicating the Print Cartridge
wear and has many other features too.

If you refill ink cartridges then this application is useful for
determining when to do this, or if you always replace your ink cartridge,
this application can help you to determine when to order a new cartridge.

This version adds support for Spanish, and will even predict the
date when your printer cartridge will run out, based on average use.

This program requires System 7.
Please include this on CD collections if you wish.

Best Regards,
Steve Smith

Subject: [*] QuickChar 1.5.1

QuickChar provides a quick and simple way to access accented characters
or other symbols that are not directly available on your keyboard.

Create sets of your most frequently used characters to save even more
time when using the popup picker window that can be displayed anywhere on
the screen without the need to move the cursor up to a menu or icon. The
picker window also displays the keystroke needed to produce each
character manually along with the ASCII code for programmers.

Also use QuickMacros to make entering long strings or information like
the date and time much easier- for example, just type /time. to autotype
the current time for you.

QuickChar 1.5.1 is now available in a PPC native version as well as 68K
for users of older Macs. As well as adding a number of tweaks and
improvements, 1.5.1 removes a horrible bug present in v1.5 that could
cause a nasty crash.

Thankyou for your help,

Subject: [*] Regis 1.1 (FAT), A Registration Serial Number Tracker

Regis is a freeware application that helps users easily keep track of the
registration numbers of their purchased software. It allows users to
quickly save and retrieve their software's serial reg number by simply
dragging-and-dropping icons on top of Regis.

Version 1.1 offers the following enhancements over v1.0: - Added more fields to
accomodate Company Name, Purchase/Installation Date, and Miscellaneous
information. - Added rudimentary printing capability. - No longer crashes like
a
bastard when the user enters a long serial number. - When the user changes the
filename of an existing entry, the original filename is overwritten rather than
having a new entry created. - Deleting entries in a long file list no longer
results in a frozen scrollbar. - Data file is placed in Regis' directory rather
than the Prefs folder. - Open dialog box can select any item now. - Modestly
better performance and appearance. - Generally speaking, it now sucks less.

Why use Regis? Have you ever upgraded to a new version of some software or
called for technical support over the phone? Then you know that it's
important to keep the registration serial number of your software around so
you can identify that you're the legitimate owner of the programs you've
purchased.

But if you're like me, you have your registration information written on scraps
of paper or kept in manuals and boxes you've scattered somewhere. And when it's
time to upgrade to new versions, you cringe at the thought of entering a
twenty-character code for your commercial or shareware apps. (You DO
register and pay for your shareware, don't you?) The solution: use Regis
to maintain your serial numbers!

Regis is a FAT application, meaning it needs to exercise more and eat less.
Additionally, it can run native on both 68K and PowerPC ISAs. It has been
tested
on a 7100/80 and a Quadra 630.

Feel free to include Regis on the archive's CD-ROM collection.

Subject: [*] Snood 2.0 -- Puzzle Game

I would like to announce the release of version 2.0 of my puzzle game,
Snood. Version 2.0 includes many new features, including tournaments,
specially-designed puzzle levels, and individual player statistics
records. A brief description follows; for more information, go to:

http://www-personal.umich.edu/~dob/snood.html

Snood is a fun puzzle game for Macintosh that will test your
intellect rather than your reflexes. Your goal is to free all of the
trapped Snoods by launching other Snoods at them. If you connect
three or more Snoods, they will transport away. If that leaves any
Snoods not connected to the top of the playfield, they will fall to
safety. Don't take too long, though. Every Snood you launch increases
the Danger Level. When the gauge fills up, the Snoods will shift
downward. If the Snoods reach you, the game is over.

SPECIAL NOTE FOR PARENTS: Snood is a good game for children as well
as adults. The game is non-violent and non-confrontational, and
children can play at their own pace. It develops several basic
skills, including matching, calculation of angles, and simple
strategic assessment and problem solving. It does not require
reading, and the controls are very simple. The Child difficulty level
is easy enough even for young children.

   Minimum requirements:
     * Mac with 68030 or newer processor (68040 or PPC recommended)
     * System 7 (System 6.0.7 reportedly works, too)
     * Screen size of 640x480 pixels or larger
     * 256 or more color monitor

This release offers four new games, beautiful professional graphics including
many different window backgrounds and card designs, and the new Card Shark
Options for intelligent game play: "smart cards" that zoom to their
destinations
with a single click, early win notification, Am-I-Stuck, and more. It also
contains these features from earlier versions: unlimited undo and redo of
moves,
the status bar that shows your progress and statistics at a glance, "Magnetic
Mouse" option for playing without typing or clicking (great for RSI
relief!), and sound effects.

Have you ever seen a sound? Why don't you try it on your Mac? If your Mac has
microphone or CD-input or something like that, You can see it with
SoundVision.
SoundVision is probably the fastest sound analyzer for Mac. SoundVision shows
waveform and spectrum of sound at REAL TIME on most of Macs. You don't need
fast
Macs like AV series to do real time analysis, only you need is a Mac IIsi
(normal one, 68030 20MHz). Have a try. It's fun!

SoundVision requires a Mac with 68030, 68LC040, 68040 or PowerPC for the CPU.
SoundVision is a FREEWARE. Please feel free to send me any questions, comments,
suggestions, etc.

Enjoy it!

Subject: [*] TykeWriter - Word Processor for Kids! Version 1.0.1

TykeWriter is a word processing program for children who are learning to
read and
write. It is trivial to children to learn and use. As the child's skills
develop, the teacher or parent can add new features by changing the level
setting
for that child. TykeWriter can be used without the keyboard, using only the
mouse and on-screen alphabet.

TykeWriter should work with all desktop Macintosh running any version of
System 7.

To install, download the file "TykeWriter 1.0.1.sea" and double click on that
file. A dialog box will ask you to pick a location for storing the
program. Once
the location has been selected, press the "Extract" button and a folder will be
created. This folder contains a readme file with further instructions.
