Send Keystrokes to any Application

TSendKey98 for Delphi 4 (demo dcu built in 4.03)

Using the Tsendkey98 component makes it simple to send Keystrokes to any application. This now includes Windows 98 and Windows 2000*. Once the control is installed all you need to is set a couple of properties and call one of three built in functions.

Properties

• UseTokensOnly
  Sometimes you need to send keystrokes which are mapped to Inline Triggers turning ON this option forces you to sent full Tokens like {SHIFT] {ALT} and {CTRL} instead.

Functions

• SendKeys
  Sends keystrokes to the top level application and focused window.
  
  Example:
  s := ‘~hello’ or
  s := ‘{SHIFT}hello’ or
  s := ‘Hello’
  If not SendKeys(s) then
  ShowMessage(‘Could not send Keystrokes’);
  
  
  
• SendKeysTo
  Sends keystrokes to the FocusWindow, first activating the application, which owns the FocusWindow.
  
  Example:
  s := ‘~hello’ or
  s := ‘{SHIFT}hello’ or
  s := ‘Hello’
  FocusWindow := <Handle of a Window to receive Keystrokes>
  If not SendKeysTo(s, FocusWindow) then
  ShowMessage(‘Could not send Keystrokes’);

• SendKeysToTopWindow
  Sends keystrokes to the application with the ClassName and Title (one may be NIL)
  
  Example:
  s := ‘~hello’ or
  s := ‘{SHIFT}hello’ or
  s := ‘Hello’
  ClassName := ‘NOTEPAD’
  Title := nil;
  If not SendKeysToTopWindow(s, ClassName, Title) then
