5.0.3 Release Notes

The 5.0.3 Update removes a potential security vulnerability found in the
FTP server. Under certain circumstances, someone logging into the server
may be able to bypass the password challenge. This vulnerability is only
present if the FTP server is turned on. To correct this vulnerability,
the 5.0.3 Update replaces a core library file.

  Download the appropriate 5.0.3 update file and place it in the
  /boot/ directory (drop it on the hard drive volume but not into
  any of the folders.) Unzipping (double-click it) it will install
  the library in the correct folder.  The correct folder is
  /boot/beos/system/lib

  After installing the library, restart networking via the
  Network Preferences panel.

Note to Personal Edition Users: 5.0.3 update does not include functionality
changes between 5.0.1 and 5.0.3.  There is no 5.0.2 Personal Edition update
because 5.0.2 only contains changes applicable to the Professional Edition.
