LOS ANGELES--Grammy-winning rap artist Stanley Howse of the group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony was charged Wednesday with weapons violations and making a terrorist threat following an altercation at the home of a relative, officials said.
The 26-year-old rapper was arrested when his relatives called police after an argument on Monday, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office said in a statement. He is being held on $95,000 bail.
He was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, illegal possession of a shotgun, making a terrorist threat and resisting an officer.
The district attorney's office said that when police arrived at the relative's home in Los Angeles, Howse had a loaded shotgun and initially refused officers' orders to leave the house.
Howse pleaded guilty in February, 1988, to assault with a deadly weapon after attacking a neighbor in suburban Chatsworth who complained about shots being fired. He was sentenced to three years probation and ordered to perform community service and undergo anger management training.
Howse is a founding member of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, which won a Grammy award for best rap performance by a duo or group in 1997 for the single, "Tha Crossroads."
